The Árnessýsla Folk Museum is located in Húsið "The House in Eyrarbakki" dating back to 1765. It is one of the oldest and most remarkabl buildings in Iceland and was orginally residence of the Eyrarbakki trading post merchants and their staff. Húsið was for a long time considered one of the most cultivated homes in the country.
The museum takes the visitor back to old times in a small Icelandic fishing village. On display is a fine collection of artifacts connected with fisheries, crafts, social and cultural life of the common people durning the last 100 years.
Þuríðarbúð was erected in 1949 in memory of Þuríður Einarsdóttir and old working procedures.
The only
creamery in Iceland still with its original equipment is at Baugsstaðir.
It was founded in 1904 by 48 farmers from Stokkseyri and its
neighbourhood.

Many old stories about ghosts and strange creatures take place in the Árborg and the neighbours. The ghost Kampholtsmóri was very active in the 19th and 20th centuries, and still is according to some. A trip through the ghost museum is interesting and fun. Open weekends and other times by an arrangement.
Icelandic Wonders is a museum encompassing approximately 1200 square metres that is dedicated to elves, trolls and Northern Lights. The museum is situated in Stokkseyri, which is about 70 km from Reykjavík (approximately one hour's drive). It is on the ground floor of the "Culture Centre" (Menningarhús) and next door to the popular lobster restaurant “Við Fjöruborðið

The largest collection of mounted animals, firearms and artifacts in Iceland, to the public. This is only museum in Iceland that is dedicated to hunting and wildlife. Open year around, all days of the week, 11:00 - 18:00.
The museum is open Monday - Friday 14-18 and Sat - Sun 13-18. Free
