Snowmobile tours at Myrdalsjökull. Sólheimaskáli is the name of our hut standing by the edge of the glacier. From the main road #1, there is a 10 kilometres stretch (ca. 20 minutes drive) up to our lodge. There you will be provided all necessary equipment for a glacier expedition, like isothermal overalls, helmet, boots and gloves. In the hut we always have new-made mountain coffee, made the old way.
Brydebúð in Vík is Myrdalur's culture center. This is an ideal stop for tourists, especially if there is little to see because of our special "Myrdalanian" rain and fog, although that can be an interesting sight too. Brydebúð's main policy is to make the history and culture of the Vik area more visible by having various exhibitions. This is to maintain a cultural tourism in Myrdalur.
Fyrhólaeyjaferðir offers a land trip to a sea trip and/or if the weather does not permit sailing, a very pleasant land trip is available. They take off from the farm Dyrhólar and drive down over the sands among the gravel mounds, and drive along the beach to Dyrhólaey, where the famous opening and the biggest pillars are clearly visible.
Fishfarming station.
